"I am excited to hear the news coming out of Paris that an agreement has been reached by nearly 200 countries on a climate accord. Despite some disagreement over whether the accord does too much or not enough, the importance of this step cannot be underestimated. Today, the world came together and said that we have to work together to fight climate change. The science surrounding this issue reached a consensus a long time ago, and the consensus is that the world is warming and most of that warming is being caused by humans. I look forward to learning more of the details of the accord in the coming days and I am hopeful that this means we will start to mitigate the harmful results of climate change such as more severe droughts, rising sea-levels, and more frequent wildfires. This is truly a historic day." - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson
